Track and Trace Technology in Factory Automation

JUNE 16, 2011 - The need for robust part verification and data tracking continues to grow in almost all manufacturing sectors.   In some cases (e.g., medical, pharmaceutical, safety-critical automotive parts) it is mandatory.

An exciting new frontier in the area of micro RFID is emerging that will change how and where the tracking data will be stored.  Micro RFID chips which are over-moulded in medical devices - or either chips or flex circuits which are in-moulded with labels in pharmaceutical packages and closures - will allow onboard tracking of lot numbers, inspection data.   Perhaps more important, micro-RFID will allow tracking of the product through the distribution chain all the way to point of purchase – and possibly beyond in the form of “intelligent” electronic labels.  In the medical industry in particular, RFID tracking technology will minimize cross-contamination, unforeseen re-use and counterfeiting.

Systematix has developed and implemented user-friendly data collection and user interfaces for hundreds of automated assembly and inspection systems.  Our team of  innovative engineers  is ready to tackle and implement cutting-edge and cost-effective solution such as RFID Track and Trace in your manufacturing process.

Systematix provides turnkey automated and semi-automated manufacturing solutions to the medical, automotive electronic and consumer industries, using robotic, power-and-free or synchronous part handling. Our company has experience in both assembly involving electronic circuitry and in packaging.
